Now that they have succeeded in captivating the fashion world with their bijoux lobo cuff earrings, duo Carolina Neri and Bérengère Lux of CA&LOU have ventured into the world of handbags.
For Spring Summer 2015, CA&LOU unveiled a capsule collection of clutches, which were inspired largely by a tropical theme and crafted with raffia-textured printed cotton. The compact bags were bejewelled with pearl and Swarovski crystal patterns mirroring the earrings and necklaces on show.
"We thought about the bag that we would like to use. The bags are easy also to use for day," Neri told NOWFASHION at the presentation in Milan's Brera district, where almond milk and coconut water were being served in zen design paper cups.
Costume jewelery this season included an array of bronze, gold-dipped designs that fused Art Deco glamour with ultra-modern floral and tasseled forms that would have made silver screen stars like Marlene Dietrich swoon if still alive today.
Proving that old school glamour can be a fit for women of any age, CA&LOU, which is sold in international establishments like Saks in New York City and Colette in Paris, more than doubled the volume of their sales in 2013 versus 2012, selling a total of 5000 pieces to 55 worldwide retailers last year.
