Felder Felder Ready To Wear Spring Summer 2013 London

You know it’s gonna be something good when not a model but Kate Nash, rocking a Felder black suede dress with flared skirt and awesome rockabilly creepers, jumps from backstage onto a pop-up podium on the catwalk to provide a highly charged soundtrack for a show. Perfectly fitting for Felder Felder’s ‘late night girl on the loose’ aesthetic, Nash live performance electrified the atmosphere, with the models taking over the catwalk like they would the city at nighttime. And contrary to the title of her new single, we’d say do not “under-estimate the [Felder] girl”: exuding an ultra-confident urban girl with no shadow of doubt of who she is and where she is going, Felder Felder’s collection featured a parade of bold crop tops, short skirts and ruffled underwear as outwear, mixing the lightest leather and suede with quilted silk and lace. While staying true to their signature youthful vibe, this season the twins have also catered for a little more grown-up, soft yet still confident woman; with high-impact gowns that easily take you from coast to cocktail, they have loosened their characteristic edgy silhouette with flowing printed chiffons and georgette. Focusing on creating and sustaining illusion, both through cut but also through the collection’s defining print – leopard spots, which, upon a closer look, turn out to be composed by broken butterfly wings – the cool design duo offered clothes that were truly made with wearability in mind, providing enough visual interest without ever overpowering the wearer. Complete with the deliciously charismatic performance by Nash, who epitomizes the ideal Felder girl, the show was a super upbeat ending of day one.
