Jil Sander Navy Ready To Wear Fall Winter 2015 New York

Jil Sander Navy is getting into the bag charm game this season and with good reason. With the much touted and toted Karlito charm from Fendi selling out and stocking up a waiting list each season, it's a smart business move.  But whether this Milanese brand's version of the charm — a short chain of leather links — will incite as much fervor is doubtful.

What might cause more interest are the actual pieces from the collection. Sportswear is a word used in most every review this season and it popped up again here with a bit of individuality.  Quilted skirts came layered under neat A-line dresses. Longer skirt options in nylon came with workwear-inspired drawstring tabs at the hem. It was an interesting mix.

The four print stories that we spied: a chevron jacquard that aded a bit of glitz to the lineup; a carnation done large and small, the former on quilted bombers and the latter on neat button-downs; a camouflage that was at some points rendered in a needle-punched technique that lent itself to intriguing texture plays; and an alligator print inspired by Chinese shadow puppets that brought the fun. Like we said, an interesting — but definitely intriguing — mix.
