Victor de Souza Ready To Wear Fall Winter 2011 New York

Argentinian by birth and a couturier by training, Victor de Souza produced his very first collection at just eighteen years old and debuted at Paris fashion week in 2002.

Since launching his own, American label in 2009 (he was previously creative director at Ruskin), VDS is known for applying couture techniques to high-end ready-to-wear. A collection that began with a cashmere zipper jacket followed by a blue wool blazer, we were taken on a journey through structured cocktail wear - tuxedo’s, satin trench coats, cashmere wool dresses and corseted bodice’s - ending at evening wear.

Cap sleeves were a theme as was blue lace. Appliqued humming birds flew across an ivory organza top. The colours were lime green, yellow, royal blue, black and grey. VDS cited Imperial India during winter as an inspiration.
