Aalto’s Sustainable Ambitions

Sustainability was at the inception of this season's Aalto collection. Tuomas Merikoski has partnered with RePack, a Finnish packing company whose yellow sleeves are made from recycled materials. Every time you purchase something from Aalto's website, the brand will send it to you via RePack so you can send the package back and they can reuse it.

Talk about unexpected inspirations, Merikoski's yellow bags and color palette from yesterday's show were also derived from the packages. Elsewhere, the brand keeps evolving at a steady pace: clothes keep looking lighter and lighter (trench coats in banana yellow were paper thin), and fans can still find the pieces they know and love, like the checkered woolen dresses and the trademark pleated jeans. And the same friendly, inclusive vibe that never leaves Merikoski's brand. Which is why we love it.
