Alessa Ready To Wear Fall Winter 2013 Rio de Janeiro
“I celebrated my 10 years anniversary last season”, explains Alessa. “My brand being known for colorful digital prints and caftans, I decided to do something new. I opted for a Celtic cross print that represents not only the transition of the season but also a new start. I thought this state of mind matches perfectly to my new style, but also to Fashion Rio's new calendar.”
Said and done: Alessa's autumn-winter 2013/14 collection being more tailored and structured than before. The designer was obviously released from the Girl from Ipanema-feeling, that used to underline her tropical prints on airy easy-to-wear dresses and rather opted for rock aesthetics à la Paint it black, with plain black sequined drop-crotch tracksuit, white jacquard shaped embroideries on boxy cocoon dresses and overalls and edgy Celtic cross prints, that were adorning shirts, pencil skirts and capri pants.
In this context, attention was paid to smaller details: luxurious pipe beads lend the Celtic cross prints a three-dimensional element, while delicate embroideries adorned trims and ruffles of skirts and tops. Furthermore, the frames sunglasses were encrusted with black crystals for a decent bling-bling touch. Fabric-wise, leather came along in different variations: mostly ruffled and perforated or striped on transparent tulle dresses and pants.
“Style in Rio de Janeiro is mostly very informal. I try to make it more sophisticated, but I still respect our easy-going attitude. You can totally and wear my ready-to-wear dresses with Havaianas”. A good excuse to leave your high heels behind.
