An Autumn of Collabs

Adidas is blending its trio of sporty stripes with the knotted Prada ropes. The collaboration of the season, Prada, Adidas, and Adidas Original made it official Thursday, announcing “#Pradaforadidas @adidas @adidasoriginals. Coming soon," with a simple captioned photo on Instagram.

PY_LEAKS by PY_RATES originally leaked the news, saying that the sneakers will be called “adidas Prada Sailing.”

When it comes to designer collabs, this fall has not fallen short of hot capsules. Here is a list of some of the most notable of the season:

Moschino and Budweiser: Bud or Bud Light? Jeremy Scott, famous for his flair for kitsch and celebrating consumer icons like Windex bottles and McDonald’s french fries, sealed a deal Monday in Shanghai with Budweiser, the Missouri-based American beer brand. A capsule collection of 15 ready-to-wear and accessories designs for men and women are already available online.

Stella McCartney and mytheresa.com teamed up last month for an 11-piece capsule collection of eco-friendly staples that includes urban workwear attire, animal print knits, and puffed sleeved ensembles, some of them crafted with sustainable viscose.

Supreme and OAMC: In September streetstyle brand Supreme announced its collaboration with OAMC, a capsule collection of vintage surplus military coats, emblazoned with “PEACEMAKER” on the back. All the profits from the capsule were donated to Immigration Families Together, a non-profit organisation dedicated to reuniting families separated at the US-Mexico border.

Virgil Abloh for IKEA: Dubbed Markerad, Virgil Abloh’s latest collection for IKEA was geared towards students and the strapped-for-cash millennials moving into their first homes. The launch has attracted throngs of fans who lined up outside IKEA stores in the US and UK to grab pillows with the orange Off-White adhesive or a throw rug emblazoned with “Wet Grass.”
