Anne Valérie Hash Ready To Wear Spring Summer 2013 Paris

This season designer Anne Valérie Hash seemed to be building on ideas she launched in her winter collection and by reworking old favorites. Once again she showed her distinctive trompe l’oeil “slipping off the shoulders” jackets, and – as always- her jumpsuits and wrap front pants appeared in her spring/summer 2013 show.

What was different this time around was the color palette of the satins (blush pinks, pastel blue, chartreuse) and opalescent organza pieces that made this collection feel much more girly than usual. Which is odd considering that Hash wanted to create a show that was sensual in nature.

Taken individually, each outfit was pleasant enough. The jackets looked fresh crafted with iridescent fabrics, the sleeveless jumpsuits had a bit of sex appeal with colorful bra cups peeking out from the top, and the tuxedo pants with their built in cummerbunds got a clever twist, thanks to the sheer panels inserted down the sides.

This collection didn’t break any new ground. But who says that fashion really needs to reinvent the sartorial wheel every season. What’s wrong with a bit of consistence?
