As girls with teased bouffants made their way down the Badgley Mischka runway, one had to wonder, where were the day looks? Were these slightly dark modern debutantes immune to leaving the home before five? Were two coats — one a standout, flimsy red oversized poncho — paired with a turtleneck and trousers in black, all that was required for an entire season (possibly paired with shades, of course, for a quick trip to Starbucks)?
It seemed that was indeed the case, as a coterie of encrusted dress options, perfect for the social set, glided down the runway. The silhouette varied, taking a trip down the fit and flare route and then riffing on something a little slinkier. There was a high-waisted black skirt that came down encrusted with gold stones that made for a strong offer as well as the sheer back panel of a sparkly blue halter option. Dainty, ladylike clutches and a few wrist glove options rounded out the creative vision.
