The scent of fresh grass and colorful streamers set the mood for Blugirl's Rock en Plein Air summer 2015 collection, as guests took their places on wooden benches. If Just Cavalli's earlier presentation was Woodstock then this was undoubtedly the Italian chapter of the Glastonbury-Coachella musical axis. Consider this summer 2015 the how-to of festival wardrobes from the younger, flirtier sister of Blumarine. Ladies, if you were wondering what to pack, take notes and prepare your lists. First, the fresh done-but-not-done faces; then lots of leg - hardly anything reached past the knee; finally, beanies and tiered skirts, backpacks and low boots studded with rhinestones, flirty dresses galore.
Anna Molinari's rose motif played throughout, sweetening up a camouflage print or providing the motif of a lilac lace number. Despite plenty of skin on display, it's still good girls having a grand time roughing it in the VIP tents. What you see is what you get, no more, no less. En masse, the effect was of a carrousel of realistic, compelling post-festival imagery but taken individually, there were some definite standouts, among which a buttery khaki leather jacket, a black crochet dress and the sparkly jacket seen on the opening look. If at times Blugirl feels formulaic, the ensemble certainly speaks to the cadre of bright-eyed, bushy-tailed icons that Anna Molinari has always wooed.
