Blumarine’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection was inspired by a fairytale with a happy beginning and ending. “It all started with an illuminating dream that I translated into luminous and transparent fabrics”, said Anna Molinari who seems to have stepped down her SS13 catwalk in her pleated knee-length dress in powder pink. “We are women and even if we dress fabulously and slip into these amazing garments we still are very down to earth”. Anna Molinari does not compromise on her vision and does not do things by half way. For this Spring/Summer 2012, she conveyed her energy through laminated jacquards, lame jerseys and iridescent hues.
Very feminine the silhouettes presented were fluid and utterly sensual. The show started with some silk chiffon chemise inspired dresses with lace inserts and delicate fringes at the hem. Skirts were made of layers of silk or satin in various lengths, creating movement- the models seemed to be floating in the air. To the romantic looks followed silhouettes made of knits and pleated billowy trousers, or draped wrap-effect skirts. As always the Blumarine collection had its dose of beads, rhinestones and sequins. Season after season, Anna Molinari cultivates the maximal appeal of Blumarine. Is Blumarine contemporary? At least it seems still relevant.
