Blumarine's spring summer 2014 women's collection unfolded like one of those Italian weddings where everyone just looks so darn good.
First, the show kicked off with a series of diaphanous floor-length dresses, many that looked more like wedding gowns for a daring bride not afraid to show some skin, rather than ready-to-wear of any kind.
Tight skin colored corsets were revealed under the transparent swathes of sheer material. A master with lace, Anna Molinari incorporated an overall natural theme with butterflies and exotic flowers on macrame' and broderie anglaise, infusing this sexy collection a most endearing quality.
Then, the wedding party begins to arrive. Short cocktail dresses were fashioned with printed tulle and fitted skirts in stretch crepe de Chine and satin, others with printed organza with iridescent detailing and gilded jacquard patterns.
There was always a "WTH" moment. This time it was when the furry collared yellow skirt suit and the frilly purple polkadot dress strolled into the wedding venue.
Then the after party gets underway and midnight black tops and gowns covered in sequins and rhinestones really get the party started. Accessories included shoulder bags with plexiglass and metal straps, and clutches in patent leather with jewel applique'.
A hearty applause from the crowd was fashion community's "I DO" moment.
