A total of twenty silhouettes that included eight cocktail dresses eleven evening gown and la mariée came down the runway at Christophe Josse. Each piece from this new collection reflects architectural inspirations from both I.M Pei’s Museum of Islamic Art in Doha (Quatar), and the winding outlines of Zaha Hadid’s Galaxy Soho in Beijing.
The designs battle between straight lines and curves, architectural volumes, and organic smoothness. Hourglass shapes create a fine waist silhouette with round hips.
A combination of different materials like organza frayed at the ends, hand painted gazar, chiffon pleats and soft crocodile scales with a “Fabergé” finish bring visual surprises, and enrich the textures without overwhelming them. The touches are light, creative and technical and always in search of grace.
The color palettes swing between the lightness of a soft pearl grey/pink, pale blond, deep black, iris violet and a big brush of Indian rose with fuchsia, which helps to inject an Asian energy.
