Fendi Fetes Boutique Milan
The storied Roman fashion house Fendi celebrated Thursday its new store located on Milan's Via Montenapoleone 3, in the heart of the fashion capital's shopping Quadrilatero district.
Situated in the historic 16th century Casa Carcassola Grandi palazzo, the two-story space features thematic rooms including the Fur Salon, the Selleria, a VIP dressing room and a one-of-a-kind Made-to-Order section where clients can have personalized versions of the Anna, Adele, Peekaboo or Baguette bags made in various colors and skins, including ostrich, crocodile, and calf.
"This new home in Milan is a milestone in Fendi's history which we are very proud of," said Pietro Beccari, president and ceo of Fendi.
His wife, Elisabetta Beccari also attended the opening, which was scheduled during Milan's women's ready-to-wear shows.
"My favorite part was the fur room and the made-to-order bag section, because you can make your handbag how you prefer," she told NOWFASHION.
Greeting customers in the foyer, is an instillation designed by the Turin-based Italian artist studio Nucleo. The towering piece is crafted with amber resin pixels and serves as a reminder of Rome's ancient cobblestone avenues and monumental piazzas. Travertine, a form of limestone frequently used in Roman architecture past and present, lines the store, along with bronze, stone, and lacquered walls with opulent gold highlights.
Art and fashion intertwine throughout the rest of the boutique, with designer-cum-photographer Karl Lagerfeld's "The Glory of Water" photo project displayed in several of the rooms.
The Baguette Wall features a myriad of the iconic bag in a variety of different patterns, textures and colors. It is sure to be a crowd pleaser for the throngs of shopping tourists this city attracts all year long.
