Francesco Scognamiglio Ready To Wear Spring Summer 2013 Milan
Sheer and transparent are Francesco Scognamiglio’s keywords or so it seems after having seen a spring/summer 2013 collection almost entirely see-through. A bohemian traveler is the theme of this collection. The designer dressed his women thinking of Capri at the beginning of 20th century- very romantic with a feeling of darkness.
Scognamiglio stayed true to his style and showed a collection that featured all the Scognamiglio codes. If last season he tried to refrain his love for the opulent and the transparent, this time he did not hold back his impulse and the result was beautifully dramatic.
The designer’s muse for next summer is a woman of today propelled in the world of yesterday, she is romantic and dark. The plaqué hairstyles and burgundy lips contrast strongly with the white silk garments. All the dresses, short or long, are embellished with ruffles, metallic mesh or lace inserts. Metallic bird appliqués punctuate Scognamiglio’s fantastic vision. Some of the looks mix old-style blouses with sporty influences; hence some models came out in micro athletic shorts paired with silk chiffon blouse.
Wrapped around silk or covered with mesh, Scognamiglio is taking part in the debate on the definition of modern feminine armor.
