A celebration of his new partnership with Malaysian entrepreneur Johann Young and the news of a new couture collection on the way, Francesco Scognamiglio's Spring/Summer women's collection showed off his flair for sexy lingerie-inspired evening ensembles.
At the Spring/Summer 2016 fashion show, the Scognamiglio lady proved quite a tease, who hides her real self behind an angelic guise, even though deep down inside she is a true and utter vixen.
With a lot of ’70s prom-like diaphanous silk gowns and ruffled chiffon prairie-girl layers, Scognamiglio's lady made her way down the runway in Milan's Palazzo Reale like an angel in the night. And with the light just so and the reflection of the golden runway illuminating her tresses, she floated like an opal-colored jellyfish in the tropical coral reef.
But when night falls, her true naughty nature comes out when she puts on her if-looks-could-kill lingerie crafted with aggressively puckered shoulders and sharp sprays of silk, elaborate leotards, as well as plunging V-necklines that reveal a whole lot of nipple.
Baroque-inspired ensembles were inlayed with black silk mikado, creating cracks of jade green — a pattern woven into evening trench coats. Velvety brocade cocktail dresses were reminiscent of the decadent palazzi of 18th century Naples.
In fact, Scognamiglio was inspired by the artwork of the San Severino chapel in Naples.
Celebrated among pop stars, Scognamiglio has made a name for himself as a designer who caters to a woman who likes to stir attention in her direction.
Obfuscating, as he has done several times in the past, the lines between lingerie and evening wear, Scognamiglio shows that he is a man that works to show women how to be their sexiest self.
