French Fashion Comes Together for Virtual Auction

History has proven that, when the creative community comes together, it can manage to both produce the most amazing creative work and put together initiatives that support its true core.

Over the course of these few months, creative communities around the world have put together some of the most amazing projects in order to help caregivers overcome this terrible health crisis by identifying urgent needs of hospitals.

The Parisian community has also been affected deeply and has involved the help of the multidisciplinary collective, #ProtegeTonSoignant, which managed to put together an online money pot.

In order to support the collective’s initiative, the French Fashion Community has decided to come together for a unique auction of iconic vintage pieces, imagined by creators for the benefit of  #ProtegeTonSoignant.

Each participating designer selects a piece from one of their collections (clothing or accessory) that they reinterpret in the colour of #ProtegeTonSoignant - electric blue. From emerging designers to landmark Maisons, the whole French fashion community will be expressing its support for caregivers.

The pieces created for this sale will be sold at auction (that runs from May 1st to May 4th) on a dedicated platform and bids for all of the pieces will start at 100€. The profits from this sale will be integrated directly into the money pot so that it can be used immediately for the benefit of caregivers. The creations will be sent to buyers at the end of the lockdown. #ProtegeTonSoignant will ensure the logistics for both pick up of pieces and deliveries.

Other initiatives of note during the past few months are the ones organized by Italian magazine Perimetro which raised 727.600€ for Bergamo’s Papa Giovanni Hospital New York’s Picture for Elmhurst that raised $1,380,000 for Elmhurst Hospital Center and, last but not least, the ongoing and recently launched photographic initiative Photographs for the Trussell Trust, a print sale of work by British and UK based photographers with 100% of proceeds going towards the Trussell Trust to help those who have been largely affected by the economic and social crisis as a consequence of the Covid-19 health emergency.
