Gucci’s 1955 Horesbit Bag, which was relaunched in a multitude of colors at its 2020 Cruise collection, has sold out, in what marks one of the fastest sell-outs in the brand’s history.

The Horsebit bag, inspired by equestrian code, features a double ring and bar and is modelled with the same shoulder strap it featured over six decades ago. Since its relaunch, it has been worn by Sienna Miller, Elle Fanning, and Chinese stars like singer Qi Wei and actress Ni Ni.

The brand has been applauded for its connection with young luxury consumers and captivating millennials with a penchant for luxury with its vast galaxy of accessories and vintage revivals.

Gucci is currently taking back-orders for the Horesbit at a retail price of $2,300.

On a similar note, The Zumi collection, another classic, is on world tour, and just stopped in New York City and Chicago.

A Gucci spokesperson said that Europe was the top market for the bag, and its success was due to the time they invested in product storytelling and its online preview. “gucci.com is the biggest showcase for the brand.”

When you are in Shanghai, the only thing you need to worry about is always keeping your phone charged and connected – as everything passes through these devices, and without it you are lost. Cash no longer circulates; the QR code pays everything. This, of course, offers more control on transactions and, I guess, fewer tax evasion problems (at least for shopping). This is one aspect of the...
