Haider Ackermann Ready To Wear Spring Summer 2015 Paris
A newbie to the fashion world turned up backstage at the Haider Ackermann show with tears still welling up in her eyes. So moved by the designer's blissful collection she was unable to contain the emotions the event had stirred up.
Don't worry lady, we've all been there.
This was a warm and fuzzy, romantically sensual collection that lifted the designer's work up to a joyful place. The tailored dark and moody Ackermann designs of the past, cut in rich leathers and thick wools, making way for lighter, more accessible fair.
"I am going through a tender moment privately," revealed the designer backstage. "And you have these tender gestures and you want to share this happiness," he added, poignantly.
That tenderness most definitely translated to the clothing. The designer was basically sharing the love with his audience.
Ackermann traded in his fitted suits for fluid silk versions. His taut perfectos were transformed into light weight bomber jackets that were ruched up with zippers, undulating at the edges of pockets, and down the garment's rippling front. Then there were the long column jumpsuits, which looked minimal from the front but revealed a fully exposed back just asking to be caressed. As for the designer's jackets, they came held close to the waist bit then burst forth with seductive layers of wide ruffled fabric along the hips.
Colors too were more cheerful. Bush pink, lilac and dove gray replacing the designer's more usual blacks, browns golds and plum shades.
Just go ahead and add this intoxicating Ackermann show to the long list of winning collections that the designer has produced since he started his signature brand, 13 years ago.
