Have Yourself a Very Culkin Christmas

Who embodies the holidays better than Macaulay Culkin? The Home Alone 1 and 2 star has joined forces with the Swedish brand Happy Socks to be the face of its festive campaign. A pretty genius idea, it has to be said.

“We were thinking of what global person everyone would think about for the holidays,” Happy Socks cofounder Mikael Söderlindh told WWD. “The most played movie during this time is Home Alone and we heard [Culkin] doesn’t even like Christmas, which makes it even more fun.”

Söderlindh pointed out the idea behind the campaign was to show that the actor can be whatever he wants with the help of Happy Socks. And Culkin sports a pair of red and white spotty Snowman ones in the accompanying campaign film. He also strokes a beribboned pet iguana. And dons a very Christmassy jumper.

“Both Happy Socks and I have really good taste in spokesmen. But yeah, Christmas is my time of year,” said Culkin in a statement. “I get recognised 10 times more between the months of November and January. I have no idea why.

”The campaign comes as part of the Naughty or Nice capsule collection which features a collaboration of three styles with Culkin.
