Husband and wife team Max and Lubov Azria have designed the Hervé Léger line since its relaunch in early 2007 (AW08/09) and you’ve got to give it to them, they not only understand the DNA of the brand but keep us interested. Hervé Léger equals the bandage dress that was so va-va voom in the 80s and twenty years later, this collection shows the Azria's taking the name successfully into the new decade.
Interlinking gold rectangular chains ran up, down and across many of the body hugging dresses and how much fun was it to see the Léger dress cut in a dogtooth print? Little A-line skirts and knee high boots gave a gladiatorial feel. The latticed strips of leather across vest tops resembled armour. Sexy armour that is. This seasons colours ranged from white through pearl, rust, amber and black. Nothing ditzy or flouro meaning the eye is invited to take in the textures and detailed craftmanship that flowed throughout the entire collection. All of this is well worth considered inspection so don’t miss the thirty-five shots in our close-ups section.
