Jeremy Scott Ready To Wear Spring Summer 2013 New York
One never really knows what to expect at a Jeremy Scott show. For spring, the designer titled his show “Arab Spring,” and from the music to makeshift veils, the Middle East inspiration came through loud and clear. But this was not a showcase for burqas or chadors.
Juxtaposed between patent leather crocodile print and flowy silks printed with Scott’s clothes hanger logo design and gold chains, the looks that came down the runway in a most accelerated manner featured a Noah Ark’s worth of animal prints: giraffe, snake, croc and leopard—all featured prominently on hot pants, overalls, jackets and accessories. Two showstoppers included a top and mesh dress covered in miniature machine guns. The palette was at once soothing and much more stabilized.
