"Half a year ago, we would have never expected that we would have a show today," said the duo that presented their Spring Summer 2015 collection at the second day of the Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam. "It is amazing that Vodafone Firsts Fashion LAB gave us a platform to this audience."

Bregje Cox and Joelle Boers both studied in Maastricht. "We are interested in the same things, we see the same things, but in some ways we are also very different. It is that what makes us work as a duo," said the two creatives.

In their collection Cox was responsible for the design and Boers for the textiles and prints. Entitled "IINUA", the two were inspired by the Inuit people that believe all people, animals, and geographic features possess a spiritual essence.

That inspiration resulted in a very interesting and innovative collection, with a very clear theme going on. Wonderful printed voluminous sweaters and skirts were in contrast with a softly falling elegant dress.

The lines on the models' faces were inspired by the traditional tattoos of the Inuit people. For their show, the duo collaborated with the shoe designer Chris van den Elzen, who created 3D printed wood pulp wedges. "We love combining nature with modern techniques. The 3D printed items really match that feeling," said Cox. Besides the wedges, the icicles the models were accessorized with were 3D printed as well.

The cold feeling of icebergs and polar ice caps was accentuated by discordant red lipstick. It was the clear theme that made the collection so strong, something young designers are often missing.
