America’s luxury fashion retailer Macy’s is reportedly about to open a new retail concept store in Southlake Texas, which has been ranked as one of the wealthiest cities in the United States.
As consumers’ behaviours are changing, Macy’s immersive shopping experience aims at celebrating discovery, community and convenience by offering distinctive products curated with an editorial approach. Market by Macy’s retail options will include a curated selection of the best of Macy’s branded fashion assortment mixed with newness from speciality designers and local Texas brands for men, women, kids and home.
Stocking a mixture of well-known and upcoming brands, the concept store will also focus on selling apothecary beauty and hair-care items and will also include a cafè and restaurant inside for its customers, based on the retailer’s latest jobs listing – which also indicate that the new opening is being headed by Story founder Rachel Shechtman, acquired by the retailer in 2018.
Market by Macy’s will offer an event space designed to accommodate a range of community-driven programming from cooking tutorials and book signings to crafting and fitness classes. By partnering with best-in-class technology brands, Macy’s is aiming at exploring new strategies to create a seamless customer experience.
The news of the opening comes just weeks after Macy’s confirmed that at least 30 of its underperforming stores will be closed in early 2020. Further to this, the potential closure of some of the retailer’s tech offices in the US has also been rumoured. Macy’s is set to hold a meeting with investors next Wednesday in New York to further discuss this concept and potential changes.
