Multifaceted femininity was the theme chosen by Massimo Rebecchi for his spring/summer 2013 collection. The show was scheduled on the last day of Milan SS13 Fashion Week. The wide blue stripes and the print clashing looks, were not very exciting for an audience that had seen plenty of them in the past few days. Tone on tone outfits were followed by playful and gamy prints, featuring butterflies and black Yorkshire dogs that had left part of the guests skeptical about the feminine facet the collection was supposed to illustrate. The designer included in his cast an apparent bra in various prints matching some of the skirts and covered by a colored sheer shirt.
The looks that were interesting and had a distinctive allure were the trouser ensembles and the short dresses in a geometric black and white print. A few dapper masculine silhouettes popped out and contrasted with their feminine counterparts.
Massimo Rebecchi’s evening repertoire was easy to get, it was about loose black silk dévoré dresses and sequin separates, which was a soft conclusion to an eclectic spring/summer proposal that missed consistency. Overall it was all or nothing and too much of everything.
