Last season Michael Kors celebrated thirty years in fashion with a very polished, non fussy demonstration of haut gamme American chic replete with luxurious materials. This season Kors whisked us off to Africa via colours of scorched earth: sienna, paprika, saffron alongside camo green, animal prints and batik. Safari meets globe trotting wanderlust. A mackintosh with maxi batik print was a striking idea. Raquel Zimmerman in the full bodied and flowing leopard print kaftan was a vision. One can only wish to meet the fabulous creatures who would wear such pieces, they’re bound to be carefree spirits. The swimwear that evoked scenes of Bond Girl’s emerging from exotic waters was as stunning as the cool, white cotton shirts with layered skirts were smart. Baggy trousers in light cotton utility cut and a sarong appeared amongst the menswear, very handsome all of it was too. It’s an enviable and aspirational lifestyle that the Kors label portrays, this season just add sunblock and you’re ready to go.
