On an oriental rug-strewn runway, designer Angela Missoni sent out a collection that took its starting point from the idea of an intrepid traveler commencing an 8 day long journey on the trans-Siberian-Manchurian railroad line.
The concept made for a rich and romantic collection overflowing with lush colors that blended and faded along the brand’s iconic knitwear as well as suede jackets, wool outerwear, fringe edged tops and pinstriped or plaid suiting. All of it often topped off with big looping winter scarves that made each model, with their ties tucked into their shirts, look even more dashing.
The collection was at once exotic and urban. Sophisticated both in the complex construction of each piece and in the way the designer was able to bring all the robust colors to heel and work as one to transmit an emotion.
It proved that Missoni is quite a weaver of sartorial tales. Conjuring up, as she did, the images of foreign lands filled with profound beauty and passionate secrets.
