For Spring/Summer 2012, On Aura Tout Vu bought us The Fire Woman. She was powerful and determined as she made her way down the catwalk only to bewitch her audience and make heads turn. Her first appearance was in a one-piece leotard, holding a baton and sporting black leather ankle boots with stiletto heals. Never has such sparse amount of material been so intricately designed; thousands of precious stones encased around the model’s body. Those around her were undoubtedly envious.
As the show continued the colours evolved. At first, outfits captured reds, oranges, fuchsias and black that later became electric blues and deep violets. Despite the colour change the ever-present reference to The Fire Woman remained. Flames trailed up slender legs and made their way onto the designs of transparent gowns. Sparkling sequins were combined with tulle and embroidered with crystal. The harshness of angular and over-sized sleeves in white silk organza printed with smoke effortlessly commanded attention.
