Ingmar Bergman’s The Seventh Seal meets high luxury. Rick Owens delivered a wonderful surprise this season by unearthing another face of romance from his gothic aesthetic. Models wore knitted cowls or mink wimples that proposed a beautiful, precise way of framing perfect maquillage for women during the winter months.
Capes were either quilted, knitted or fur, some swept shoulders while others completely enveloped the body and graced ankles revealing protruding pleats on long, leather boots. Shades of mushroom, grey and black governed the palette and layering led the aesthetic. The leather jackets, which will surely be winners with shoppers, came in many permutations and mixed matte leather with luxurious textures. They jumped off ideas given by the biker jacket but with the Rick Owens touch, these designs resemble no other. If Owen\'s is known to play with ideas of religious imagery in this modern age, our faith in his talent is continually reaffirmed.
