The Saint-Laurent show at the Palladium was a tribute to Los Angeles' music scene and is the second project Hedi Slimane has curated in the city; the first being his Moca contemporary photography show in November 2011. The Fall/Winter 2016 ready-to-wear show also marked the 50 year anniversary of Saint Laurent Rive Gauche and Slimane made an homage by reusing historic Rive Gauche prints, such as the 82 musical note print.
The collection was mostly unisexe and saw Hedi returning to his signature style pieces and principles such as the androgynouys male look he pioneered in the late nineties or his military officer iconic pieces. His signature codes and proportions were reinvented with hints of glam and psych rock. The feminin silk bows, metallic glam boots, tapestry jackets, men's fedoras and couture embroideries were showstoppers many of the celebrities present this evening would have wanted to leave the show with, along with the stars in their eyes.
A triumph for glam rock and people who live a lifestyle of passion all over the world. https://t.co/MGaQHJ4JuD
