Seldom one might have the possibility of participating in private auctions as they are often reserved to industry insiders or avid collectors, yet Chanel and Sotheby’s are making it happen.
From November 29th to December 5th, the French luxury house will be releasing a selected number of designs at an online auction organized by the renowned fine art and luxury dealer.
An array of 177 Chanel designs, which are all part of an extensive collection owned by an undisclosed Italian admirer of the brand, includes a vast and varied assortment of handbags, dresses, jewels, and accessories.
The compendium includes one-of-a-kind pieces which range from the iconic shearling “Pop Art” patchwork bag from the Fall 2014 season to classics, such as accessories lined with pearls and the quintessential gold logo chain belt.
If, however, true fans of the French luxury brand may want to have an up-close-and-personal look at the items before bidding for them online, then Milan’s Palazzo Serbelloni will be offering the perfect occasion, as it will be hosting an exhibition of the collection organised by Sotheby’s until December 3rd.
In the meantime, Milanese fans of the brand should visit the latest Chanel exhibition in collaboration with creative polymath Jean-Paul Goude on until December 31st at Palazzo Giureconsulti.
