Can anyone say "Rawhiiiiiide?"
The more effortlessly chic of the Max Mara orbit of brands, Sportmax unleashed an Italian "buttero" cowgirl-meets-Cherokee-maiden look of a collection for fall/winter 2015.
Raw-feel pony hide jackets and camel color wool coats were trimmed with fringes and bordered with thick twine-like thread, reminiscent of the wild wild west.
Black leather and reptalia on trenches and evening jackets glistened like the mane of a prize horse.
Accessories emphasized the prairie look as bags adorned with cowhide-spotted leather with braided straps and footwear such as laceup wedges cut with soft matte leather and chunky crepe soles made their way down the runway.
Buttonless, fur and blanket pattern criss cross wool looks enveloped the body in a protective way for horseback journeys and campfire powwows.
"The Sportmax woman is cozy chic," the press release said.
With an array that incorporates the best in Italian leather and textile craftsmanship, Sportmax might prove to be a lot more than just a Maxmara little sister brand.
