Temperley London Ready To Wear Fall Winter 2014 London
Romance has always been a key element for the house of Temperley, yet this season marks the start of a new attitude for the brand, where innocence gets left behind and the style shifts considerably toward a sexier and savvier attitude. The designer, Alice Temperley, is once again inspired by her travels and decides to pay homage to the Spanish cathedrals and the Byzantine architecture.
So the fabrics and the colours are opulent, the silhouettes vary greatly from slim to exaggerated volumes, while embroideries and patterns are reminiscent of mosaics, stained glass and swirling iron gates. The palette tends to prefer nuances such as cobalt, dark green and black or powdered tones of rose, silver and grey, yet the intricate satin stitch floral embellishments add incredibly bright colours and a timeless appeal. Particularly interesting are the quilted jackets with large collars, that dress down the richly ornate gowns and wisely balances the looks between classic and modern.
The result is ravishing, the daywear looks comfortable and young even with structured silhouettes and intricate jacquard patterns, while the floor sweeping eveningwear is light and sexily luxurious. And for a further touch of class, the silk and wool scarves and shawls feature the same amazing embroideries as the dresses and create a very exquisite total look.
