Tess Giberson Ready To Wear Spring Summer 2015 New York
It's interesting when a designer can practically capture their entire collection in one or two looks. Tess Giberson did exactly that in the two last looks of her showing: a white cellophane knit over a bandeau top paired with a printed and pleated skirt for the first and a pleated elongated dress with the same light blue water print. They both spoke to the core of the easy, clean beach-going crowd the collection was aimed at.
Of course for that crowd Giberson had a few pieces of swimwear with a watercolor printed one piece held up by spaghetti straps and a sheer skirt as a coverup as the key look. Racerback tops kept the designer on trend with the presentations of swimwear designers in Miami this summer. Elsewhere -- Cynthia Rowley and Tim Gunn's recent disparaging comments about the trend ignored -- the designer put middriffs on display with cropped and bralette tops. Sometimes, metallic fabrications seemed a slight falter for the collection but it didn't end up distracting too much from a strong effort.
