The New Shock by the Shox

The Iconic Shox by Nike is legendary – not just for the innovative materials it is crafted with, but also for the bright colors and its peculiar circular pistons. The model first hit the shelves in 2003 and its quirky elements and urban street allure rendered the model a great success.

Today, the latest version of the Shox, the Shox TL, combines breathable mesh into the upper portion of the shoe and advanced Shox technology for more effective impact absorption.

The shoe features flexible, resilient pistons that support the sole and moderation foils that compress and revert to their original shape, for an extra surge of energy.

Tech features of the shoe are balanced by sharp aesthetics that capture more attention than the run-of-the-mill athletic shoe. Overall, the design is a very close replica of the 2003 Nike Shox TL – but this time it has been upgraded with a punky touch – chains here and there and futuristic textures.  Contoured outer layers mold the foot and enhance the shoe's ultra comfortable fit.

Sita Abellan, the Spanish DJ, model, and Instagram icon, implemented the Shox TL sneaker into her fashion week wardrobe to infuse her outfits with a sporty, energetic vibe for the upscale parties, presentations, and catwalk shows this week. One in black and red, she said, is the perfect compliment to an "after-show" look – the kind that attracts the attention of street style photographers clamouring for pre- and post-show photos.

The second one, a nude and metallic one, is just right for late-night clubbing on the Milan scene.

Celebrating Milan street style and the Shox success, Nike and NOWFASHION have created an Instagram filter that features dancing pistons -- perfect for silly selfies.  Enjoy!
