This season, Georg Jensen hosts Copenhagen Fashion Week's Danish designer Ole Yde for his eponymous line YDE at the George Hensen Jewellery Headquarters, where the renowned silver smith forms the backdrop of the show.
For his autumn/winter 2012/12 collection the young designer opts for his trademark territory of eveningwear refined by Jensen's gold jewelery. Renowned for his flirtatious and opulent gowns, Yde plays with different textures, such as printed chiffons and satins, leather, furs and sculpted knitwear.
The color palette ranges from an array of cream and winter earth tones, to metallic shades and deep plums, balanced by a few splashes of fuchsia and emerald green.
All in all, Yde's mostly heavily overloaded but playful garments are meant to be an ode to the magic of Venetian masquerade balls – bronze lace gowns and silk organza bubble dresses set a cheeky tone indeed.
